A digital learning programme for care home staff (nursing and residential)

The programme is for 3 months and aims to improve knowledge and confidence for those caring for service users living with diabetes. This will help to improve standards of care and reduce hospital admissions from hypos, illness and foot problems.

EDEN CARES consists of:

One Recorded Session:

A discussion between healthcare professionals with expertise in diabetes, which highlights key information contained within the eLearning sessions. It provides an opportunity to obtain key information in preparation for your CARES participation.

Three e-Learning Modules to Enhance the Lessons:

  • What is diabetes?

  • Diabetes medications

  • Lifestyle considerations

  • Avoiding diabetes related emergencies

  • Mental Health, dementia and learning disabilities

  • Diabetes care at end of life

One Virtual Discussion Forum with an EDEN Diabetes Educator

Interactive and engaging conversations via video call to consolidate leaning, ask questions and discuss case studies. It is vital that our learners feel supported and encouraged throughout, so we plan to support you in this exciting learning journey.
