EDEN welcomes Sarah Gregory to the team
Sarah Gregory joins the team to focus on delivering and expanding EDEN CARES programme
After collaborating with Sarah over the last couple of years, we are thrilled that she will be joining the EDEN team in June as an Education and Research Associate.
Sarah joins the team for one day a week, aligning with her current service lead role at Medway Community Healthcare, Community Diabetes Team.
Sarah will be working with the EDEN team to develop and deliver the national roll out of the Sanofi CARES diabetes programme to support the upskilling of staff working in care homes.
Sarah Gregory said:
“I am excited to be part of the CARES programme, having worked with EDEN for a long time developing this; it is great to see it available to so many. I’m especially looking forward to mentoring healthcare professionals (HCPs) from across the country, and helping them develop their knowledge in diabetes.”
Sarah moved into Diabetes Care in 2000, initially as a Community diabetes specialist nurse (DSN). She is currently the Clinical Lead for the Community Diabetes Team at Medway Community Healthcare. Prior to returning to the Community she was a senior In-Patient DSN at East Kent Hospital where she set up the In-Patient DSN service. Sarah has completed her MSc in Diabetes at the University of Brighton.
Sarah became a Diabetes UK Clinical Champion to raise the profile of Diabetes in East Kent, and to look at collaborative working and influencing others in improving diabetes care, particularly in reducing admissions for the elderly and vulnerable patients in care homes.
Laura Willcocks, lead for healthcare professional education and training added:
“As a team, we have been so lucky to work, learn and have immense fun with Sarah for a number of years. We are delighted to have the opportunity to draw further on her skill and experience in diabetes care to work together into the future at EDEN and Leicester Diabetes Centre (LDC).”
