An EDEN series of virtual sessions, covering foot assessments, risk assessments, foot infections and patient engagement.

Rachel Berrington, Diabetes Specialist Nurse and EDEN Educator hosts four virtual educational experiences during February 2021, exclusively for our Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland partners.

Session One - Foot Assessments

Tuesday 2nd February 2021

12.30-1.30pm

  • Demonstrate an awareness of good foot care advice and treatments.

  • Understand the micro and macrovascular complications that can occur due to diabetes.

Session Two - Risk Assessments

Tuesday 9th February 2021

12.30-1.30pm

  • Recognise the need for annual foot screening and risk assessments for people with diabetes.

  • Know how to refer appropriately to the multidisciplinary foot team (MDFT) and podiatry, when diabetic foot issues occur.

Session Three - Foot Infections

Tuesday 16th February 2021

12.30-1.30pm

  • Types of infection.

  • Antibiotic choice.

  • Dressing selection.

Session Four - Patient Engagement

Tuesday 23rd February 2021

6.00pm - 7.00pm

  • Tips and advice on self-care, whether it is for a foot ulcer or ulcer prevention.

  • Foot checklist to aid your consultation.

  • Referral via PRISM to either community podiatry or MDFT.
